No more phantom "today"

A quick "mark as read" used to fabricate today's date, which slowly polluted your "books read this year" and your monthly stats with dates that never really happened. Now an undated read stays honestly undated — grouped under a clear Read (date unknown) heading on your shelf instead of silently landing on today.

Backdate when you remember

Finished something last spring? Open the book on your shelf and set the real date. The backdating editor lets you record when you actually read it, so your timeline reflects what happened.

Your default, your call

A new setting lets you choose what a casual mark-read does: leave the date blank, use today, or ask each time — whatever matches how you like to log.
