Mickey Mouse

Edition excerpt from Mickey Mouse: "Island in the Sky" and Other Wild Hi-Tech Tales: Disney Greatest Comics Collection Vol. 3 (2027): Two-fisted hero Mickey Mouse and ever-game Goofy have been mixing it up with rasslin' robots, sinister steampunk, and mad scientists since the start of their careers! Now join Mouseton's digital defenders for a stellar, decades-spanning anthology of Disney sci-fi! "Omigosh!" The charm and chaos of cutting-edge technology is a perfect match for adventurous Mickey—but our hi-tech hero is just one hard-drive crash away from danger! Now Fantagraphics brings you a super(computer)-size book of Mickey's most thrilling techno-adventures, with his friends, foes, and fan-favorite writers and artists all present! In Floyd Gottfredson's "Island in the Sky" and Andrea "Casty" Castellan's "Wayward Web," Mickey and genius Dr. Einmug battle to save first an awesome floating island, then the entire internet from Pegleg Pete and the vicious Mr. Vertigo! In "Goofy's Mechanical Wizard," a spooky 1950s AI predicts the future with chilling accuracy—while Massimo De Vita's "Crimefighting Computer" finds Mickey defending Mouseton from robot cops gone rogue! And that's only the start. Each tale of pulp-fiction peril comes with an info-drive from silicon Disney scholars Jim Fanning, David Gerstein, and Simone Cavazzuti—just in case, like Mickey and Goofy, you fear an AI takeover of your town. Gawrsh! Mickey Mouse: "Island in the Sky" and Other Wild Hi-Tech Tales: Disney Greatest Comics Collection Vol. 3 is part of the The Floyd Gottfredson Library series.
