Land of Nod Rockabye

Edition excerpt from The Land of Nod - Rockabye Book (2025): If Hanna-Barbera dealt with existential angst and deconstructionalism, the end resule would probably resemble The Land of Nod, the new comic from Jay Stephens. I sincerely doubt, however, that they would do anywhere near as good a job as he has. Make no mistake, this book is quite an achievement." "...the work Jay's done in the past couple of years, collected here for the first time as The Rockabye Book, points to a new phase of Jay's upward growth. Like Jay's heroes Otto Messemer and Ubbe Ewerks, he's aiming at a perfect mix of solid, simple, expressive drawing, perfect gag timing, and stories shot through with whimsy and elegance.... Keep your eye on him. Chart a course by his star - it's going up and up. He really is one of our best.
