Ice Cream Man Decompression in a Wreck
Edition excerpt from ICE CREAM MAN DECOMPRESSION IN A WRECK DELUXE EDITION (2024): A family on a cross-country roadtrip. Two truckers hauling dairy upstate. And a violent interstate crash that stretches, slows, and warps time… Presented here in deluxe format (square-bound card stock!) is the collected edition of ICE CREAM MAN issues 39 and 40—a two-part experiment that explores comic book decompression, the myriad conflicts of the human soul, and that magical place where prose and sequential narrative sometimes meet. DECOMPRESSION IN A WRECK is a comic story like no other, and one that could only be told by the team responsible for ICE CREAM MAN. Across two interconnected chapters, this brace of bummers features ICM’s familiar formalistic play and lapidary narration—plus a magic trick disguised as a New Yorker fiction article! Not to mention: a newly designed wraparound cover and bonus materials galore. Keep your eyes on the road.
