Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: IDW Classic Collections

Edition excerpt from Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency: IDW Classic Collections (2027): Three graphic novels featuring Douglas Adams’ holistic detective in one pocket-sized edition! This IDW Classic Collections edition collects A Spoon Too Short and The Salmon of Doubt, volumes 1 and 2 in one book for the first time! From the 1987 cult classic that Adams described as a "thumping good detective-ghost-horror-who dunnit-time travel-romantic-musical-comedy-epic," to the fan-favorite BBC America/Netflix series (over 100,000 fans petitioned to save it), Dirk Gently has enchanted readers and viewers for nearly four decades. Now his comic-book adventures are gathered in one volume. Written by Arvind Ethan David—who first brought Dirk to the stage with Douglas Adams's blessing and executive-produced the TV series—and hailed by Big Comic Page as proof that "lightning can absolutely strike twice," with dialogue that "effortlessly captures the Adamsian lilt." In A Spoon Too Short, Dirk finds himself investigating a bizarre case of poaching, dumbstruck tourists, and the inner membranes of a rhinoceros’ nose. Then, in The Salmon of Doubt, plagued by nightmares about a childhood he never had, Dirk returns to Cambridge University to seek the advice of his former tutor, the time-traveling Professor Reg Chronotis. There, he discovers that a holistic detective can have more than one past, and his adventures have only just begun. By Arvind Ethan David and Ilias Kyriazis.
