Synopsis
The classic modern origin of Superman, now available in DC Compact Comics as a complete, accessible introduction to the Man of Steel. Before he became Superman, he was Clark Kent, a young man discovering his place in the world. Raised in Smallville with strong values and a sense of responsibility, Clark must decide how to use his extraordinary powers in a world that doesn’t yet understand him. As he steps into Metropolis for the first time, Clark encounters Lois Lane, faces the calculating Lex Luthor, and begins to define what it means to be Superman—balancing extraordinary powers with deeply human values. Written and illustrated by John Byrne, this landmark story reintroduced Superman to modern audiences, combining action, heart, and timeless heroism to establish the foundation for every Superman story that followed. Collects The Man of Steel #1-6.
